Tips to Stretch Your Budget:

  • Lock your picture before you start conform - no late cuts! 

    • The more changes you make while in finishing, the more hours of work that will be needed causing overages. 

  • Use proxy media and timecode-consistent edits during offline.

  • Ask about “Festival-Ready” packages for color, online & delivery.

  • Combine deliverables to avoid extra render hours.

    • Make sure to check in with festivals and distributors ahead of time about what will be needed for your final deliverables.

  • Stay organized in the edit and also with your producing team to avoid extra hours of fixing work.

    • This includes creating VFX trackers, BVAs, and other organization items that can be helpful in ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
